Stephan Eliez

Stephan Eliez completed his medical studies and the beginning of his clinical training in child psychiatry in Geneva. In order to complete his training in the field of neurosciences, he moved to California, to Stanford University where he stayed from 1997 to 2001. He specializes in the use of new brain imaging techniques. His current research combines the traditional clinical research approach with a multidisciplinary research methodology in genetics, cognitive neuroscience and neuroimaging. This model provides an understanding of the biological and environmental factors that contribute to learning disabilities and serious psychiatric illnesses in children and adolescents. Today, Stephan Eliez shares his activities between the general management of the Fondation Pôle Autisme, the medical management of the medical-pedagogical office of Geneva, research and teaching. He was promoted to the position of ordinary professor in the Department of Psychiatry of the Faculty of Medicine in July 2013.
