Professor Silvestro Micera,  Bertarelli Foundation Chair in Translational Neuroengineering from the School of Engineering’s Translational Neural Engineering Lab (TNE), has been awarded the 2021 EMBS Technical Achievement Award.

He will receive a $1,500 USD honorarium for “his contribution to the development of new implantable neuroprostheses to restore sensory and motor function in disabled people".

This award is given annually to individuals to “recognize outstanding achievements, contributions, and/or innovations in any area of bioengineering by an individual or group of individuals".
